Some more pictures of things that catch my fancy. This was a leftover relic of hallow-e'en on the fencing around the old St Michael's estate. The patch of grass left over after demolishing the last of the apartment blocks has been a bit of a gathering point for locals over the hallow-e'en (Samhain in Irish) period to let of fireworks and have bonfires. Not sure what they will do now the whole site has been boarded up while they start building St Michael's estate Mk 3.

Throwback Travel

The wanderings through the annals of the gunkman's travels continues. This week are some pictures from a whistle-stop trip to Rome for work in 2004.  My first trip to the imperial city but luckily, one of my colleagues had, in a previous life, been a priest, was fluent in Latin, and had spent some time in the Vatican, so he was able to be a guide during the invariable airport, taxi, hotel, taxi, work, taxi, restaurant,  taxi... that is modern business traveling. Luckily I have managed to have several subsequent trips to Rome and it is definitely one of my European favourites. Every time you turn a corner, you run into a Roman era ruin or building.

The hotel overlooked the Coliseum, hence the concentration of pictures around this and the forum.

Random Pics

Some more pictures from wandering around the 'hood in what was probably one of the warmest and driest Decembers we have experienced in Dublin. These are along the Grand canal, which forms the Southern boundary of Inchicore.

Friday is Funday

Well that's two weeks down in 2026 and you haven't killed anyone yet, which is a bonus. Although next week isn't looking that good. Just keep the arseholes away from me.

In an effort to get the year off to a good start, after last week's rather skanky inked ladies, we will but a bit of pizzazz into this week's cultural offering and look at ladies with a bit more class. As usual, you playlist is located here
