Retro computing

This caught my eye the other day

In a defiant press conference held in the back of a dusty loft, the Sinclair Spectrum 48k has once again declared itself “the undisputed heavyweight champion of home computing,” despite being plugged into a black-and-white portable TV via an aerial cable that hasn’t worked properly since 1989.

Linky here

As a Sinclair fanboi in my youth I would almost concur. The ZX81 was my first love. The things you could do with 1Kb of storage. Poking directly into RAM to get some obscure trick to work. The speccie had sound, colours, 48K of memory and I did enjoy working on it, but not nearly as much as the ZX81.

Groaners

Time for Thursday's collection of groaners. Admit it, one or two will raise a wry smile or a chuckle.
