Throwback travel

SWMBO and I had a great Italian vacation taking in Rome, Florence, Pisa, and Tuscany. All in all a fabulous holiday that was notable for things just clicking, like the person who approached us in the line to the coliseum asking if we wanted to join a group and skip queuing. we thought it was a scam, but the additional price was well worth the time saved standing in line so we did it. The tour was brilliant and we still quote the very enthusiastic guide, especially with some of his English translations, such as "bastard lions". As an added bonus, at the end of the tour, the guide informed us there was a trainee guide that was going to do a tour up the Palatine hill for free (gratuities only) in half an hour. Of course we duly took advantage and went around a part of Rome that many tourists miss.

These are the pics from Rome.
