Weekend recap

A slightly less busy weekend this time round.

Friday kicked it off with a planned drink or two in the local, but the pop-up Mexican there decided to do a  theme night, including a singer who had the sombrero, pants with buckles up the side, the whole damn-shoot. He wasn't bad and had bought his own fan club who knew all the choruses etc, so the atmosphere was quite festive. We stayed for several and a plate each of Mexican food before heading home to watch another Christmas move, A Christmas Story, one of my favourites.

SWMBO was up at the crack of dawn on Saturday to get the dinner going (Christmas dinner for friends) while I went up the canal for a 16.5 km run which included a bit of exploring off the main route during when I found a park I had never been in before. After that, the day was consumed with cooking and cleaning before collecting the guests. Needless to say, much rubbish was spoken, excellent food consumed, drink taken, and games played.

Sunday was rather subdued and all that happened was cleaning up the mess from the night before, a brisk walk down the Liffey, followed by a pipe outside. The second Christmas movie of the weekend was Home Alone 2,  which neither of us had seen before and both enjoyed.

Groaners

Time for Thursday's collection of groaners. Admit it, one or two will raise a wry smile or a chuckle.
