The wanderings through the annals of the gunkman's travels continues. This week are some pictures from a whistle-stop trip to Rome for work in 2004. My first trip to the imperial city but luckily, one of my colleagues had, in a previous life, been a priest, was fluent in Latin, and had spent some time in the Vatican, so he was able to be a guide during the invariable airport, taxi, hotel, taxi, work, taxi, restaurant, taxi... that is modern business traveling. Luckily I have managed to have several subsequent trips to Rome and it is definitely one of my European favourites. Every time you turn a corner, you run into a Roman era ruin or building.
The hotel overlooked the Coliseum, hence the concentration of pictures around this and the forum.
